Independence at Home May Become a Permanent Care Delivery Model

July 26, 2016

The highly successful Independence at Home demonstration program is the focus of a new bill in Congress that would make the program a permanent option for care delivery to chronically ill patients in their homes.

If passed, this bill will enable health plans and medical groups to deliver high touch, quality care in the home. For the full story, read the article in Home Health Care News.

Out of the 17 practices participating in the Independence at Home demonstration, only nine were awarded incentive payments. Principium Health CEO Kevin Murphy managed five of the nine successful practices.

These five practices generated 87 percent of the program-wide savings and received 67 percent of the incentive payments that were awarded by CMS.
